What does the $75 Chapter 13 Cover?
$75 is court required initial installment to file chapter 13 bankruptcy in Georgia. Attorney’s fees are paid through your negotiated repayment plan...not up front. Complete chapter 13 filing information is as follows:

$281 Filing fee (the court permits you to pay your filing fee in installments so you may be able to file for as little as $75 with 2 remaining installments of $103.00 each)
*Does not include the court required credit counseling (Additional $25 if filing single or $30 if filing with a spouse) and your 3-in-1 credit report. ($40 single or $70 joint)
So to start, you may be able to pay as little as $140!
Attorney’s fees are based on the complexity of the case. The good news is that your attorney’s fees for a Chapter 13 are paid, interest free, through your court ordered plan. In most cases, you do not have to pay any attorney’s fees upfront!
